Created by InShot https://v.inshot.com/invite Crisp Ginger Cookies 1/3 C. Molasses 1/4 C. Shortening 2 T. Brown Sugar, packed 1 1/4 C. Flour 1/2 t. Salt 1/4 t. Baking Soda 1/4 t. Baking Powder 1/4 t. Cinnamon 1/4 t. Ginger 1/4 t. Cloves Dash Nutmeg Dash Allspice Easy Creamy Frosting Mix together Molasses, Shortening, and Brown Sugar. Combine Flour, Baking Soda, Baking Powder, and Spices. Add Molasses mixture to Flour mixture, combine well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Preheat oven to 375*. Roll dough to 1/8 thickness or Paper thin on floured, cloth-covered board. Cut with floured 3-inch cutter. Place about 1/2 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown, about 8 minutes for 1/8-inch cookies, or 5 minutes for paper thin cookies. Remove from cookie sheet immediately to cool. Makes 18- 36 cookies. (My cookie dough was too dry and crumbly to roll out, so I just made my dough into balls and baked them as is for about 8 minutes). Easy Creamy Frosting 1 C. Powdered Sugar 1/2 t. Vanilla 1/4 t. Salt 1-2 T. Half and Half Stir to combine. Ginger Snaps 1 C. Sugar 3/4 C. Shortening 1/2 C. Molasses 1 Egg 2 C. Flour 2 t. Baking Soda 1/2 t. Salt 1/2 t. Cinnamon 1/2 t. Ginger 1/4 t. Cloves Sugar for rolling cookies in Lightly greased (not oil) cookie sheets. (I used pan spray). In a large bowl, combine first 4 ingredients, blend well, set aside. Combine remaining ingredients in another bowl. Mix together wet and dry ingredients. (Opt. you may chill dough for easier handling, if desired). Heat oven to 375*, shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll balls in Sugar. Place 2-inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until edges are set. Cool 1-2 minutes before removing from cookie sheets. (I pressed my cookies down slightly with the bottom of a drinking glass before baking them ). Roll dough into balls, roll balls in Sugar. (I pressed my cookies down slightly with the bottom of a drinking glass before I baked them). Bake for 8-10 minutes.
