Johannesburg has no shortage of incredible cars, but there’s one side of the automotive scene we don’t get to explore quite enough here on Cars924: the supercar scene. So today, we’re stepping outside the usual Cars924 garage and heading to Cars, Coffee & Croissants in Midrand, one of Johannesburg’s biggest and most diverse automotive mornings. From seriously exotic Mercedes-Benz G-Wagons and two beautifully spec’d McLaren 750S models, to a Porsche 911 GT3 and a GT3 RS that definitely wasn’t keeping quiet, the lineup was packed with some seriously special machinery. But it wasn’t just the modern supercars that caught our attention. Hidden among the exotics were some incredible enthusiast cars, including a Lotus Elise, Mazda RX-7, classic Land Rover Defender and one of Germany’s most iconic creations, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. And then, just when we thought we had seen it all, a rather unusually finished Ford GT40 added even more variety to an already eclectic lineup. This is exactly what makes Cars, Coffee & Croissants so special. It’s a snapshot of just how diverse Johannesburg’s automotive scene really is, bringing together everything from modern supercars and sports cars to BMWs, Mercedes-Benz, Audis and some seriously unexpected hidden gems.
