Testing Aeron’s DriftLoc
What happens when you take GPS and the odometer out of the equation? We put Aeron’s DriftLoc navigation algorithm to the test in a real-world GPS-denied navigation challenge.
DriftLoc is designed for inertial navigation without GPS, using a single commodity IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), an embedded processor, and a physics-driven kinematic model to estimate motion and position when satellite signals are unavailable.
In this challenge, we test how well DriftLoc can navigate without GPS and without odometer data—two common sources of positioning information.
