The aspens were starting to turn bright yellow, Independence Pass was spectacular, we explored the town, found some great food, learned more about John Denver’s connection to Aspen, and even spotted a bear walking through town. Over two days, Aspen went from a place we weren’t sure we cared about revisiting to somewhere we genuinely didn’t want to leave.
