In this clip we have Beijing Wu Style Taichi Master Wang Maozhai (1862-1940) demonstrating and teaching Taichi Sword to his son, Wang Ziying (1903-1968) in Beijing Imperial Ancestral Temple in 1930. This Taichi Sword Technique is a jewell from the attic. This technique has a gracefulness and fluency akin to beautiful floating clouds and tranquil flowing water. Master Wang Maozhai was the principle disciple of the founder of Beijing Wu style Taichi, Quan you (1834-1902). He had a great reputation in the Taichi Martial Arts circle at that time. Legendary warlord Wu Peifu, the Mayor of Beijing and the Beijing Police Chief all admired Master Wang and studied under his tutelage at the time. In fact, he cultivated many great young masters who went on to perfect this art.
