If an Olympic athlete purposely tried not to win the gold but instead tried to win the bronze (third place), we would consider that athlete a complete failure for not trying to come in first place. Our society tells us we must come in first place, that we deserve to win, and we should knock everyone out of the way to be first. The Bible tells a totally different story.
