Is it Better to Speak Softly or Carry a Big Stick? How International Media View America's Image Today On Monday, September 14, PDCA's Forum at George Washington University's Elliott School brought together three leading international journalists to examine how the world views American foreign policy and the United States' global image under the Trump administration. David Alandete (White House Correspondent, Diario ABC), Humeyra Pamuk (White House Correspondent, Reuters), and Paul Beckett (National Security & Foreign Policy Editor, The Atlantic) explored whether America First foreign policy has earned the United States greater global respect, how allies and adversaries perceive U.S. credibility and leadership, and what public opinion trends reveal about America's long-term strategic standing. This event was co-sponsored by the GWU Elliott School of International Affairs, the GW Institute for Public Diplomacy & Global Communication, and the USC Annenberg Center on Communication Leadership & Policy.
