Ganbarou / Let's do our best
Japanese work song
Singer and Performer: Unknown
[About translation]
This song was written in June 1960 to inspire the workers at the Mitsui Miike coal mine, where a strike called the Miike Struggle occurred amid the Anpo protests. The lyrics were written by Yaeko Morita and the music was composed by Sakae Araki. It spread throughout Japan and became the standard of Japanese worker's songs, sung in the Anpo protests and later in the Japanese student movement.
