Mini Mulcher and the Quest for Stability: Part 1 (1-Pound Antweight Combat Robot)

Disclaimer: NEVER EVER TEST A COMBAT ROBOT SPINNER OUTSIDE OF A SAFE TESTING ENVIRONMENT. I have a whole video on safely building combat robots [https://bit.ly/BotSafety] where I go over the construction of the test box I used for this video. It has 3/4" MDF floor and walls, and dual-layer 1/8" Lexan ceiling from which the camera is suspended. Every time I load the bot into or out of the box I use locking pliers on the weapon. I never handle the bot with the transmitter on while active (fail-safes triple checked of course). Also, if you hurt yourself, I'm not responsible, etc. Today's video is a long-form update on the various trials and tribulations I have faced over the past month or so in an attempt to upgrade Mini Mulcher. This will be an ongoing series showing how I try to get Mini Mulcher to be more stable and reliably able to self-right. Stability will be hard to come by for any angled spinner, especially a two-wheel-drive bot. Here I discuss the various obstacles I've come across and ways I've attempted to overcome them one at a time, and how that hasn't exactly always worked out. I'll also be showing how I do this kind of iterative design, build, and test process methodically. I note what failures I have had, so I can always learn from my mistakes along the way.
