In this video, we continue our USA road trip and visit one of the most interesting and controversial places in American history, Rajneeshpuram, the city established by Indian spiritual leader Osho in Oregon. We started our journey by exploring Antelope, a small American town that became famous during the 1980s because of the Rajneesh movement. From there, we travelled towards the actual location of Rajneeshpuram, where thousands of Osho’s followers once lived. Back in 1981, Osho’s followers purchased a massive ranch in Oregon and started building an entire community. Within a few years, they had developed roads, houses, farms, meditation centres and other facilities in the middle of a remote landscape. However, things didn’t go as planned. Conflicts with local residents, political controversies, criminal activities involving the movement’s leadership and the infamous 1984 Salmonella attack eventually contributed to the collapse of Rajneeshpuram in 1985. Today, the place looks completely different, but the history behind it is still fascinating. During our visit, we explored Antelope and the former Rajneeshpuram area, tried to understand what actually happened here and how an Indian spiritual movement managed to establish an entire city in the United States. It’s quite interesting to see how a small town in Oregon became connected to one of the most controversial spiritual movements in modern history. Hope you enjoy this journey through Oregon and the story of Osho’s American City. #Osho #Rajneeshpuram #Antelope #Oregon #WildWildCountry #USARoadTrip #NomadicIndian
