Because ControlNet is still running in many factories and industrial plants, and maintenance and automation engineers may still need to troubleshoot, maintain, modify and eventually upgrade these systems. More importantly, many industries are now looking at migrating legacy ControlNet networks to modern industrial Ethernet networks such as EtherNet/IP.
