Starting over after 50 can leave you capable, experienced, and still unsure where your gifts belong next. In this video, I share the one small promise that helped me begin moving again after my 25-year career ended—and why action sometimes has to come before motivation. For 25 years, I worked as a manager, coach, and trainer, helping other people solve problems, learn new skills, and keep moving forward. When that chapter of my life ended, I did not lose my identity, my value, or my gifts—but I did lose the familiar rhythm and assignment that had guided me for so long. I was not defeated. I was disoriented. Maybe you understand that feeling. You know you still have wisdom, experience, faith, leadership, creativity, and something meaningful to offer—but you are trying to figure out where all of it belongs now. The workplace changed, but my gifts came home with me. They did not disappear. They simply needed a new assignment. You do not have to reinvent your entire life overnight.
