DreamWorks just changed the game with Forgotten Island - Movie Review

I went into Forgotten Island thinking I knew exactly what kind of movie DreamWorks was making…and I could not have been more wrong. What starts as a story about best friends Jo and Raissa growing older and potentially going their separate ways somehow turns into what I can only describe as THE HANGOVER FOR KIDS. In this spoiler-free Forgotten Island review, I talk about the movie’s absolutely insane animation style, its surprisingly effective humor, the friendship at the center of the story, DreamWorks’ continued ability to create interesting villains, and why the movie completely surprised me. The animation can be overwhelming at first, but once I settled into what the movie was doing, I had an absolute blast. Even the adults in my theater were consistently laughing. More importantly, Forgotten Island feels like another example of why I want to see animation studios continue taking chances on original ideas instead of relying entirely on established franchises and sequels.
