The Darkest Batman Origin Ever: Gargoyle of Gotham Explained

What if Batman wasn't even Bruce Wayne's idea? In Batman: Gargoyle of Gotham, a young Batman fakes Bruce Wayne's death, hunts a crying killer with cartoon hammers, and walks straight into a cult that knows more about his childhood than he does. Rafael Grampá wrote and drew all four giant issues himself, and the answer this book gives to "why is he Batman?" is one of the darkest I've ever read. This is the whole story, issues #1–4, from the first page to the very last image, plus the story of how the book got made, and my honest verdict. Is the promise he keeps the one his mother would have wanted? Tell me in the comments.
