Pekora lost the iPhone Duo lottery and Noel cheered her up. Nene handed over her own launch-day phone. Then Noel lost her house to a bug, and Pekora came to comfort her… disguised as a cat. What happened, day by day ・Mon Oct 19 (Day 1): Pekora entered all 8 versions of the iPhone Duo pre-order lottery at Yodobashi (2 colours × 4 sizes) and lost all 8. Noel, who lost too, sent her a kind Discord message. ・Fri Oct 23 (Day 5), release day: on her launch-day review, Nene announced she's passing her own iPhone Duo (512 GB, white) to Pekora at list price. That evening Pekora opened her stream as "the one with the best kouhai." ・Same day, 5 PM to 10:30 PM: Noel spent 5.5 hours collecting her ARK house to rebuild it with a template. A bug stopped the template, she cried, set that archive to private and went live again at 10:46 PM. ・Sat Oct 24 (Day 6), 12:35 AM: a little cat walked up to Noel's otter. It was Pekora. That evening Pekora unboxed the phone and flipped it open for the first time: paka-paka. At 11:47 PM, on her third try, Noel's house reached 100%. ・Sun Oct 25 (Day 7), 12:31 AM: Pekora ended her stream by raiding Noel's, so Noel showed the finished house to Pekora's viewers. TL notes ・iPhone Duo: Apple's first foldable iPhone, released Oct 23. The lottery page Pekora showed lists ¥383,040 (256 GB) up to ¥603,540 (2 TB); Nene joked her flip sounds like "¥400,000 of paka-paka". ・パカパカ (paka-paka): the sound and motion of something flapping open and shut. Here: the folding phone. ・Yodobashi: Yodobashi Camera, a big Japanese electronics chain; it sold launch-day units by lottery. ・"Cow No. 15 Jr." (めす牛15Jr): a creature in Pekora's ARK base. She bet her lottery luck on whether it survived… while it stood on her running bio grinder. ・「同情するならDuoをくれ」 ("If you pity me, give me a Duo!") twists 「同情するなら金をくれ」 ("If you pity me, give me money!"), the famous line from the 1994 drama 家なき子. ・Danchou (団長, "Captain"): Noel's nickname; she leads her own knight order. ・Kouhai: a junior. Nene (5th gen, 2020) is Pekora's (3rd gen, 2019) kouhai. Pekonene: fans' name for Pekora × Nene. ・List price (定価): Pekora pays Nene what Nene paid; it's not a gift. Nene joked she'd sign it "NO RESELLING". ・YAGOO: Tanigo Motoaki, the CEO of COVER, hololive's company. ・Ririka: Ichijou Ririka (ReGLOSS) also missed out on the phone; Nene's letter jokes about showing off to her. ・Noel's house: its look comes from a building mod's template ("Greek Villa", with a steampunk skin on top). The automatic rebuild didn't finish with the mod, so it could only be built by hand; she tore it down twice. On the third try the template finally showed "Complete". ・The cat: in ARK, Pekora can turn into a cat with a skill (from the "Lost Colony" skill tree, as they say on stream). Noel plays as an otter, hence "Cat-sensei" and "Otter-sensei", and "Otter Construction" (カワウソ建築) for her building. Noel heard Pekora's "Itazura-nya" (Prank-Nya) tune crackly through the game's voice chat: "iPhone sound quality?" ・Raid: a streamer ending her stream sends her viewers to another live stream. ・"Anna from Frozen": Noel's words (アナ雪のアナ). The one who freezes things is Elsa. ・"A good box": 箱 (hako, "box") is fan slang for an agency. ・The on-screen clocks in Pekora's and Noel's streams show the real date and time; our banners count days from Oct 19 (Day 1).
