The flooding waves crash on the rocky strand, The rolling ocean brings the dust of time and sand. The deep blue water caresses foreign shores, Through trials and winds, my heavy longing soars. The sparse palm trees tilt down to seek their shade, Beneath a sun where blinding beams are made. Small schools of fish dart in the narrow space, While little crabs blow bubbles in their race. The tiny vessel rocks in misty light, The coral reefs dream of a golden night. Oh boundless sea, the father of all life, Lull me to sleep with waves that drown my strife. The sea creatures rejoice within the brine, While millions of years leave a mourning sign. So many shifts, so distant and profound, To whom can I confess this cloud-bound sound? The ocean's voice sinks to the days of old, Sad tears fall down as bitter grief takes hold. The lingering love for those who passed away, My wandering soul follows the wave's display. Still waiting for a life in lands afar, The deep, vast sea shines beautiful and clear.
