BEAUTIFUL & FUN 1972 Otis TOUCH Traction Elevators at 625 Rene Levesque Blvd Ouest in Montreal, QC

Filmed on April 13th, 2022. Today I would like to wish ‪@PNWElevatorAviation‬ aka Riley a VERY Happy Birthday! He's been a great friend of mine ever since I started YouTube several years ago, and today he is now 19 years old! And of course, we need to Celebrate!!! And we must do so with something EPIC!!! These BEAUTIFUL & TOTALLY ORIGINAL Otis VIP 260 Elevators from 1972 located right smack dab in the Center of Downtown Montreal!! Which are not only TOTALLY ORIGINAL, but in EXCELLENT Condition at 50 YEARS OLD!!! :) Now, about these elevators. These elevators were unfortunately the only known Touch Sensitives out of 4 known remaining installs in Montreal that I could ride while I was up here.... 1 was locked away at a mostly empty hospital, 1 was at an Office Building that required a badge to enter, and 1 was at an Apartment Building with a security desk in front of the elevators who told me I couldn't ride.... That all being said though, I'm still VERY HAPPY I got to ride and see these elevators, and given that this building is right next door to 1155 Robert Bourassa, I can't believe I missed these when I was here last... Fortunately, nothing has obviously changed with these since then, and I have to give HUGE THANKS to ‪@VancityElevators‬ for telling me about these! These elevators definitely don't make up for 1155 being gone as these aren't as old as those were, aren't Autotronic and I'm personally more partial to the Square Touch Buttons, however, I'm still VERY HAPPY nonetheless to see these elevators STILL ORIGINAL IN 2022 in what is an Office Building located practically in the CENTER of a Major Metropolitan City! (Only 2 blocks away from Central Station, and 1 block away from Place Bonaventure and Place Ville Marie!) This has gotten to be something you just don't really see anymore!!! These elevators were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! The Circle Touch fixtures are in such GOOD SHAPE and are SO CLEAN to the point they look BRAND NEW, the ride is VERY SMOOTH & QUIET, The Mechanical Bells SOUND AMAZING & are Absolute MUSIC to my EARS, and thanks to the Renovated Modern Cabs and how CLEAN and SPOTLESS the Button Panels and Indicators are, had I known NOTHING about elevators and you told me these elevators were 50 YEARS OLD, I probably would laugh at you! Despite how awesome these elevators are, they definitely aren't perfect, I do think they could go a bit faster for the amount of floors they serve, and the Service Elevator's 15 button kept flashing and selecting itself suggesting either a controller glitch or an issue with the button shorting out. Aside from these 2 minor issues though, these elevators ARE PERFECT and ARE in EXCELLENT SHAPE & ARE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and have AGED like FINE WINE and continue to work EXCELLENTLY 50 YEARS after their original installation, and Hopefully they will remain this way for MANY MORE years to come!!!
