Eryri

Eryri, the land of the eagles, is the roof of Wales, and there is scarcely a peak, a pass or a black lake of it without a story. Here are the tales of the high mountains: giants under the cairns, a king who is not dead but waiting, a sword given back to the water, fairy brides who came down to the lakeshore and were lost to it again, and saints who kept their counsel in cold wells. Some are as old as the rock. One or two are younger than they pretend, and where that is so, we say so.
