Volk Hands Evloev His First Loss, Yan Wins the Trilogy & Is Volk the Featherweight GOAT?

We kick things off with last night’s UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi. Alexander Volkanovski stopped Movsar Evloev in the second round, handing him his first career loss and breaking Jose Aldo’s record for featherweight title fight wins. Petr Yan beat Merab Dvalishvili in a Fight of the Night war to win their trilogy. We also cover Lone’er Kavanagh’s uppercut KO, Aaron Pico’s 74-second finish, Dominick Reyes’s comeback knockout, Yakhyaev staying unbeaten, and the full bonus breakdown. Then we get into a wild week of news. Islam vs. Carlos Prates is off. UFC 336 in Toronto now has Prates vs. Michael Morales for the interim welterweight title and Joshua Van vs. Manel Kape. Dillon Danis started a brawl at the RAF press conference, then Arman Tsarukyan tech-falled him and stepped over him. Khamzat says Sean Strickland is running from him, and Alex Pereira called his critics “idiots.” In our rankings segment, we ask whether Volk has passed Aldo as the featherweight GOAT. Jose Aldo said he’d cut Evloev after his first loss, and now Volk has given him that loss. We also get into Jon Jones saying Khabib retired too early and that Islam has better striking, then compare it all to our list. Finally, we preview next week’s UFC Fight Night: Renato Moicano vs. Tom Nolan in a lightweight main event, plus Jacobe Smith putting his 13-0 record on the line against Randy Brown and undefeated Oktagon double champ Lucia Szabova making her UFC debut. 📋 Check out our Top 100 UFC Fighters list: https://ufc-sooty.vercel.app/ Timestamps below 👇 Tell us in the comments: is Volk the featherweight GOAT over Aldo?
