Aberpella - SACC 2025

Aberpella is the University of Aberdeen's mixed-voice a cappella group. Founded in 2011, Aberpella has been a mainstay in Scottish competitions since its inception. This year's group features singers of all musical backgrounds, a lot of new faces, and a somewhat uncomfortable number of marine biologists, but never loses sight of its goal of providing Aberdeen students with a safe space to sing together. Their set this year celebrates queer artists and anthems. Featuring an eclectic mix of old and new, the set draws inspiration from the experiences of its members. Armed with blue denim and the occasional splash of yellow, they hope to express their learned pride in themselves on the SACC stage, all while enjoying performing the music they love.
