Big Bend: Austin to Alpine by Amtrak

Join Rail Trekking as we travel from Austin to Alpine, Texas, aboard Amtrak on the first leg of our Big Bend adventure. We board the Texas Eagle in Austin, travel overnight through San Antonio, and continue west aboard the Sunset Limited toward Alpine. Along the way, we take a look at the Amtrak bedroom experience, enjoy the changing Texas landscape, and discover what it’s really like to reach Big Bend country by train.
