How to Cut and Root a Columnar Cactus

My Myrtillocactus geometrizans cactus needs a restart. This cactus has not been getting enough water to drink because it was root bound and crammed in a tiny 4-inch pot for a long time. Its base became thin and narrow compared to the top growth. My solution is to cut the columns and do a restart by rooting them as cuttings.
