fluid Toilet Maintenance: How to repair the A1280 inlet valve

If you would prefer to repair, rather than replace the inlet/ fill valve in a fluid one piece toilet, this essentially means replacing 3 internal seals. While it is absolutely possible to change these seals with the inlet valve still installed, honestly, it would make the job a lot more difficult. The inlet valve, outlet valve and lever components are all quite tight together. So, especially if you are a new to this procedure, we would recommend removing the fill valve from the tank to more easily repair it. Removing the white plug, that holds in the top in place 02:24 Remove the top valve arm 02:40. Note the location of the overflow connection. (When reassembling the valve, the overflow connection must be returned to this position). 03:06. Removing the top portion of the valve, (exposing the 3 seals). 03:40. Removing the 3 seals 04:29. Replace the 3 seals, (with A1280 repair kit) 04:27. Note the grooves in the valve cap, and the corresponding grooves in the valve stem. To replace the cap, those grooves fit together 04:41 Replace the cap, (note: make sure that the overflow connection is facing to the back, as it was before removing it.
