Designed to combine modern styling, generous interior space, advanced technology and efficient powertrains, the Boreal aims to meet the expectations of families looking for comfort, practicality and versatility. With its bold front design, distinctive LED lighting signature, muscular body lines and elevated ground clearance of 222 mm, it offers a strong SUV character. Measuring 4,556 mm in length, 1,841 mm in width and 1,659 mm in height, with a 2,701 mm wheelbase, the Boreal provides generous proportions and a spacious cabin. Inside, it features a modern dashboard with two 10-inch digital displays, the OpenR Link infotainment system with integrated Google services, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging and a Multi-Sense system offering five driving modes. Depending on the trim level, equipment can include electrically adjustable front seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, ambient lighting with up to 48 colours and a premium Harman Kardon sound system with ten speakers. Practicality is another strong point, with a luggage capacity of 558 litres, expandable to 1,796 litres depending on the powertrain and seating configuration. In terms of safety, the Boreal offers up to seven airbags and a comprehensive range of driver assistance systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Active Driver Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, a 360-degree camera and automatic parking assistance, depending on the version. Under the bonnet, Renault offers two different powertrains for the Moroccan market. The first is a 1.3-litre TCe turbocharged petrol engine producing 145 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch EDC automatic transmission. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds, reaches a top speed of 180 km/h and has an official WLTP fuel consumption of 6.6 litres per 100 km. The second option is the 1.8-litre Full Hybrid E-Tech system, combining a 110-horsepower petrol engine with electric motors to deliver a combined system output of 160 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. It uses a multimode automatic transmission and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.2 seconds. Its official combined fuel consumption starts at 4.8 litres per 100 km, with CO₂ emissions from 108 g/km. The hybrid system does not require external charging, as its battery is automatically recharged through regenerative braking and energy management during driving. Renault also claims that the vehicle can operate in electric mode for up to 80% of driving time in urban conditions, depending on the driving cycle. Despite its attractive design, modern equipment and efficient hybrid technology, the Boreal still needs to prove its long-term reliability, real-world fuel consumption, build quality and after-sales performance in Morocco. Spare-parts availability, maintenance costs and warranty conditions are also important factors that potential buyers should consider. Overall, the Renault Boreal is a promising family SUV that combines space, comfort, technology and two different engine options. However, its true competitiveness will ultimately depend not only on its specifications and equipment, but also on its real-world performance, reliability and value for money compared with its rivals.
