In this video AQ video producer Matt Allen and AQ Outdoors/Splitboard HQ owner Simon Coward are back out on their first splitboard day of the season. With a slower than usual start to the season in terms of snowfall, the guys head up the lifts at Sunshine Village to gain elevation before hitting the backcountry out of bounds near the resort. We discuss pre-season gear checks, using poles effeciently, and dig a snow pit. The icing on the cake was the really great snow we found.
