SM (Mod. Nidec) Traction Elevators | fX Sudirman, Jakarta, ID

Since last year, these elevators are now in the process of being modernized by Nidec. The middle car was the first one completed, followed by the right hand car which wasn't working yet at time of my visit. The left most car was still original so I didn't bother to film that again as I already did last year. As of 9 March 2026, it has been modernized. The mod looks okay, though the segment numbers inside are rather small for such a big display. It also has got a custom voice announcement due to the mall's unique floor numbering, but the basement parking floors are spelled as "podium" for some reason. I guess the voice pack didn't have the word "Parking" so the installer chose "podium" instead. Other than that, it looks just like any other regular Nidec installations elsewhere. Since the mod, these elevators now stop at all floors. Previously the left most car served only the basement floors (P4-FB) while the remaining cars serve only the mall floors (FB-F8), and people had to change elevators at FB. I really didn't like this setup as it often confused me a bit, but now I am glad that they've completely removed it. It's better they just leave it like this and forget the segregation.
