China’s Taihang Road — Never Again:中国太行山路，再也不来了

This drive takes us along the Xijingshan Mountain Road, also known as the Xijingshan Sky Road, deep in China’s Taihang Mountains. Connecting the mountainous areas between Linzhou, Henan and Pingshun, Shanxi, this road is famous for its steep terrain, continuous hairpin turns and dramatic cliffside views. It is often described as having 62 bends, making it a popular challenge for experienced drivers and motorcyclists. The road is narrow in many places, with blind corners, steep drops and very limited space for passing. During this journey, we encountered several difficult situations where one vehicle had to reverse to make enough room. Along the way, the road passes remote villages, rugged cliffs and spectacular viewpoints overlooking the deep valleys of the Taihang Mountains. It is an incredible road to experience — but definitely one that demands patience and careful driving.
