The state government has signed 9 MoUs appointing NBCC (National Buildings Construction Corporation) as Project Management Consultant for several ambitious redevelopment projects. From College Street and Tangra Chinatown to Chandannagar Riverfront, Nabadwip Ghats and Kolkata's slum rehabilitation, multiple urban development proposals are on the table. One of the biggest highlights is the proposed Ganga Riverfront Development, inspired by Mumbai's Marine Drive, featuring: 🔴 Proposed Four-Lane Highway along the Ganga 🟡 Modern Walkways and Cycling Tracks 🔴 Hotels and Commercial Office Spaces 🟡 Planned Hawker Zones and Food Streets 🔴 QR-Based Digital Payments for Vendors 🟡 College Street Heritage Preservation 🔴 Tangra Chinatown Redevelopment 🟡 Nabadwip Ghat Development A possible Diamond Harbour–Esplanade Metro connectivity proposal is also part of the broader vision.
