If Your Wrists Hurt After Playing Drums, Do THIS! (Old Drum Tech Reveals)
Wrist pain after drumming is not a drumming problem. That is the part nobody says out loud, and it is the part that costs players the most time, the most money and the most frustration. A player's wrists start hurting, so they buy heavier sticks, then lighter sticks, then a new practice pad, then a new snare stand, and the wrists still hurt at the end of every session. The source was never the gear. It was upstream of all of it, sitting in the way the kit was set up and the way the strokes were being thrown, session after session, for years. Here is the one thing you can check right now, before you change a single piece of gear: sit at your kit, put your sticks lightly on the snare head, and look at your forearms. If they are angling sharply downward from your elbow to your wrist before you have thrown a single stroke, your wrists are already loaded before the music even starts.
