The Little Brown Jug rivalry delivered another memorable chapter as Michigan traveled to Minneapolis to face Minnesota in the 100th meeting between the Wolverines and Golden Gophers. Michigan carried a 14-7 lead into halftime, but Minnesota completely changed the game after the break, scoring 13 unanswered points to earn a 20-14 victory and reclaim the Little Brown Jug. Michigan’s defense created the biggest moments of the first half. Smith Snowden intercepted Minnesota quarterback Drake Lindsey, helping set up a 5-yard Jordan Marshall touchdown run. Later, Nathaniel Staehling jumped a pass and returned the interception 79 yards for a touchdown, giving the Wolverines a 14-7 advantage. But the second half belonged to Minnesota. The Golden Gophers forced Michigan into three turnovers overall and limited the Wolverines to just 180 total yards. Bryce Underwood finished 10-of-21 passing for 101 yards with two interceptions as Minnesota consistently disrupted Michigan’s offense and prevented the Wolverines from establishing any rhythm. Minnesota quarterback Drake Lindsey overcame two first-half interceptions to finish 17-of-25 for 136 yards and the game-winning touchdown. With Minnesota trailing 14-13 early in the fourth quarter, Lindsey connected with Darius Taylor for a 3-yard touchdown that gave the Gophers a 20-14 lead they would never surrender. Jordan Marshall led Michigan on the ground with 50 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, while JJ Buchanan led the Wolverines with 4 receptions for 50 yards. For Minnesota, TJ Thomas rushed for 56 yards, Noah Jennings caught 7 passes for 70 yards, and Darius Taylor contributed both a rushing touchdown and the decisive fourth-quarter touchdown reception. 🏈 FINAL: Minnesota 20, Michigan 14 📊 KEY STATS Michigan: • Bryce Underwood — 10/21, 101 yards, 2 INT • Jordan Marshall — 10 carries, 50 yards, TD • JJ Buchanan — 4 catches, 50 yards • 180 total yards • 3 turnovers • 22:24 time of possession Minnesota: • Drake Lindsey — 17/25, 136 yards, TD, 2 INT • TJ Thomas — 12 carries, 56 yards • Darius Taylor — rushing TD + receiving TD • Noah Jennings — 7 catches, 70 yards • 262 total yards • 37:36 time of possession Minnesota’s win was its first home victory over Michigan since 1977 and its first win in the rivalry since 2014.
