Sorry for the length. I couldn't stand another minute of editing with this PITA computer. Never-ending problems. Me and electronics don't mix. Took 9 hours to edit this one, and another 9 to upload it to YouTube!! Should've been 2 tops, for both processes! Anyway ... (grrrrrr!!!!!) ... We've got yet another failed starter sprag on a V-Star! Here we'll tackle this failure prone part removal, and replacement. I'm real rusty with motorcycle stuff, so there was alot of relearning going on here. This particular bike had a problem that I had never seen before - the camshaft drive gear was off by several degrees - well over 30 as a guess! This job took quite a bit longer due to that fact, but I was able to disregard the marks on the drive gear, and just use the mark on the cam sprocket itself. That was an interesting one! Doubtful any of you will run into this issue, so the job will be much easier for you than it was for me here. It would have added at least another 2 hours of labor to correct that issue. As long as the cam timing is correct, that gear's position doesn't matter - bike has been running great for the past 2 months now! Filmed long before 'Rona was a thing - hope all of you are staying healthy and SANE out there through this craziness. -Enjoy!
