How to get resources easily in Bellwright (including wheat and hardwood logs)

I've found that I'm struggling to get certain resources quickly in Bellwright. Then I found that it's possible to get your companions to help. You can use them and manually control them so you not only can fight bandits, but also harvest important resources.
