The Basilica of the national Shrine of the Little Flower in San Antonio, Texas was the first shrine in the US dedicated to Saint Thérèse of Lisieux . Built during the great depression, it was completed in 1931, a mere 6 years after Pope Pius XI canonized St. Therese in 1925.
