In this episode, we explore the beautiful city of Maragheh and the peaceful villages surrounding it, where life still feels frozen in time. We wander through a traditional local bazaar filled with colorful medicinal herbs, fresh local fruits, handmade products, and authentic Persian culture. Along the way, we discover delicious natural honey and fresh bee pollen at surprisingly affordable prices. Our journey continues through Maragheh's rich history as we visit two of its most remarkable landmarks: the magnificent Red Dome (Gonbad-e Sorkh) and the beautiful Blue Dome (Gonbad-e Kabud), both incredible examples of ancient Persian architecture. Leaving the city behind, we drive through breathtaking countryside surrounded by endless walnut and almond trees. Hidden among the rocky mountains, we discover an ancient monastery carved directly into the stone—a place few travelers ever get to see. One of the most heartwarming moments of our trip is meeting a young village girl making traditional pottery, keeping centuries-old craftsmanship alive.
