Oh Ye Man, You're Not Infallible

Have you ever looked at other people and wondered why they struggle with things you believe you have overcome? Have you ever felt that you were more disciplined, more careful, or more spiritually grounded than others? There was a time in my life when I felt I had kept myself. I looked at how other people lived and thought about how disciplined I was, not fully realizing that it was the grace of God keeping me. But something happened in 2022 that opened my eyes to a truth I will never forget: I am not infallible. Without God’s grace, I am capable of making the same mistakes I criticize in others. Even my best efforts cannot become a reason to boast or feel superior to anyone. That realization humbled me. It taught me to see people with more compassion, to understand that everyone needs God’s grace, and to recognize that I am standing today not because I am better than others, but because God has been merciful to me. As Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 15:10, by the grace of God, we are what we are. This is a reminder to walk humbly, extend grace to others, and never take credit for what God has enabled us to become. You are not kept by your perfection.
