The walk starts at the famous Eisbach wave, where you'll see surfers diving in and riding the standing wave even early in the morning, then follows the river past a popular swimming spot, a children's playground, and a school building along the path. From there it continues to the Chinese Tower, a wooden pagoda-style tower at the center of one of Munich's oldest and most famous beer gardens, before opening out into a huge meadow and finishing at Kleinhesseloher See, the park's main lake, home to swans, ducks, and plenty of other birdlife. The English Garden was created in 1789, and at over 900 acres, it's one of the largest urban parks in the world — bigger than both Central Park in New York and Hyde Park in London.
