Seven Sydney newsroom 'emergency' 2009

Smoke and fire alarms forced the evacuation of Seven Sydney's Martin Place headquarters on the 11th of November 2009. Most of the 200 staff had to leave the building, but Ann Sanders stayed behind to present the national Seven Morning News bulletin. The half-hour broadcast consisted of a lot of read-only items with minimal overlay. There were live crosses to Angela Cox in the newsroom, Mike Amor in America, Bill Evans at Westpac and David Richardson in the Martin Place Plaza. There were two pre-recorded packages, but otherwise Ann stuck to the phrase of 'the show must go on'. At the very beginning of this upload you will notice many of Seven's on-air personalities of the time. The teams from Sunrise, Morning Show and Seven News Sydney were all evacuated. I can't remember the exact cause of the fire, but it turned out to be something minor.
