2006-2011 Honda Civic front brake replacement with new brake pads, rotors, and loaded calipers. This DIY brake job also covers a sticking caliper, brake pull diagnosis, banjo-bolt crush washers, rotor screws, brake grease, and bleeding the system with a one-man pressure bleeder. This Civic had badly worn and discolored rotors along with brake vibration. It also pulled toward the driver's side during braking because one front caliper was grabbing differently than the other. Instead of replacing only the pads and rotors, both front calipers were replaced with loaded caliper assemblies. ⏱ TIMESTAMPS 00:00 – Honda Civic Complete Front Brake Job 00:42 – Brake Pull & Vibration Diagnosis 01:32 – Loaded vs Unloaded Calipers Explained 02:25 – Removing Honda Rotor Screws 03:28 – Disconnecting Brake Hose & Banjo Bolt 04:35 – Removing Caliper & Bracket 05:30 – Removing Old Rotor 06:22 – Preparing Hub Surface 07:02 – Installing New Rotor 07:48 – Installing Loaded Caliper Bracket 08:38 – Brake Pad Clips & Brake Grease 09:45 – Installing New Brake Pads 10:42 – Installing New Caliper 11:38 – Banjo Bolt & Copper Crush Washers 12:42 – One-Man Pressure Bleeder Setup 13:48 – Pressure Bleeding the Brake System 14:48 – Removing Air From the Caliper 15:35 – Final Inspection & Brake Cleanup 🔧 VEHICLE INFO 2006 Honda Civic Also Applies To: 2006-2011 Honda Civic models using the same front brake configuration. Always verify brake rotor, caliper, and pad fitment for your exact trim, engine, and VIN before ordering parts. 🔧 REPAIR PERFORMED Front Brake Pad Replacement Front Brake Rotor Replacement Front Brake Caliper Replacement Brake Fluid Bleeding 🛑 SYMPTOMS ON THIS VEHICLE ✔ Pulling to one side while braking ✔ Brake vibration ✔ Worn and discolored rotors ✔ Uneven caliper operation ✔ Damaged/worn brake components 🛠 TOOLS & PARTS I USED ✔ Replacement Front Rotors ✔ Replacement Brake Pads ✔ Loaded Front Brake Calipers ✔ Brake Hardware Clips ✔ Brake Grease ✔ Brake Fluid ✔ Copper Crush Washers ✔ Pressure Brake Bleeder ✔ Phillips Screwdriver ✔ Impact Screwdriver if needed ✔ 10mm Wrench for Bleeder ✔ 13mm Socket ✔ 14mm Socket ✔ 17mm Socket ✔ Ratchet & Extensions ✔ PB Blaster ✔ Brake Cleaner ✔ Drain Pan 🔧 JOB TIME & DIFFICULTY ⏰ Time: About 2-3 Hours for Both Front Sides 🧰 Difficulty: Moderate 💡 IMPORTANT BRAKE TIPS The bleeder screw needs to face upward. Air rises, so installing a caliper on the wrong side can make it nearly impossible to bleed correctly. When installing the brake hose, make sure there is one copper crush washer on each side of the banjo fitting. Do not accidentally leave an old washer stuck to the brake hose and double-stack the washers. Brake grease on the proper pad contact points helps the pads move freely and can reduce vibration and brake noise. A loaded caliper can make the job easier because it already includes the bracket, slide pins, boots, and much of the hardware. 📌 PINNED COMMENT This Civic had two different complaints: vibration from the worn rotors and a pull toward the driver's side when braking. The full repair was pads, rotors, and loaded calipers on both front sides. One important tip: always make sure the bleeder screw is at the TOP of the caliper. If the calipers get installed on the wrong sides, you'll fight trapped air all day.
