Hi Guys, after my Steakland Kobe video I knew I had to trek back from Osaka and hit the real gold standard — Mouriya Honten in Sannomiya. I rolled up right at 11am when they opened for lunch (way cheaper than dinner) and got the full personal chef treatment upstairs at the counter. I was actually staring at their ultra-premium BMS 12 A5 sirloin for ¥43,750 (~$280), but the chef straight-up told me it can get way too fatty on a full 200g sirloin. Glad I listened to her — I went with the 200g A5 Finest Sirloin for ¥31,580 (~$200) instead. Believe it is around BMS 10 as you can see from the thumbnail and the video. Yeah, this was the most expensive solo meal I’ve ever had in my life, but when you’re standing in Kobe you gotta do it at least once. The marbling on that sirloin (or New York Strip as we call it in North America) was next level. My chef cooked it piece by piece on the teppan — trimming the fat, pouring that melted Kobe goodness over the veggies, only giving me 5-8 perfect bites at a time. Crispy garlic, wasabi, sea salt, lemon soy, miso… every sauce hit different. This wasn’t just lunch. This was an art form. The care from the whole staff, the sizzle, the slow pace — unreal. Mouriya Honten has been doing this since 1885. If you’re a steak fanatic and you’re ever in Kobe, this is the one. Would you drop ¥31k (~$200) or ¥43k (~$280) on this solo? Drop your thoughts below! After all that A5 goodness I've gotta shake off some of that 'good' cholesterol, so I went for a walk around Kobe to explore the city. Hit subscribe and join me on the next video! Thanks for watching and have a great day! 📍 Location & Practical Info: Mouriya Honten 2-1-17 Shimoyamatedori, Chuo Ward, Kobe, Japan Lunch 11:00–15:00 (last order 3pm) Book in advance as this restaurant is very popular.
