Bali Fire Dance

‪@hackingtheroad‬ experienced a traditional Kecak Fire Dance at the site of the Uluwatu Temple, one of Bali's six holiest temples. With the Indian Ocean as the Amphitheater's backdrop, the dramatic performance tells a story central to Balinese culture, and symbolizes the battle between good and evil. Timed to end at sunset, the culmination of the narrative sees the white monkey warrior, Hanoman surrounded by fire--a symbol of cleansing and the power of the divine.
