Two years ago, I weighed 290 pounds and couldn't run a mile. I signed up for a marathon anyway.
That was Chicago, October 2024. I finished in 6 hours and 5 minutes, walking more than half the course. Since then, I've lost over 100 pounds and finished an Ironman 70.3.
This video is the full story of how I got here: the rowing classes that gave me structure, the marathon I had no business entering, the workouts and bike rides that finally gave me momentum and routine, and the years of losing weight, regaining it, and starting over.
But this is not just a before-and-after transformation story. Losing the weight was only one part of it. The harder question is whether I can keep building this life when progress slows, motivation disappears, and old habits start pulling me back.
I am not a full-time athlete. I work 80 to 100 hours a week in finance and fit endurance training, lifting, nutrition, and recovery around that schedule. This channel documents the process honestly: the workouts, the food, the systems that work, the setbacks, and the weeks when everything falls apart.
Next up is the 2026 New York City Marathon. My first marathon took me 6:05. This time, I am training for 3:45 and documenting the entire build here.
Subscribe to follow the journey from weight loss to marathon training, triathlon, and eventually a full Ironman.
