I-Day speech: PM Modi warns of weaponisation of resources, sea routes; urges energy self-reliance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech from the Red Fort on 80th Independence Day carried strong messages on economic security, energy self-reliance and what he called "Dimagi Naxals". He warned against the weaponisation of resources, technology and strategic sea routes, arguing that India must reduce its dependence on overseas supplies. The Prime Minister also highlighted plans to provide AI training to one crore youth and expand free online coaching for students who cannot afford expensive preparation programmes. But what was missing from the speech? There was no mention of the NEET paper leak controversy, no direct reference to allegations of police excesses, and no specific outreach to address the anxieties and aspirations of Gen Z. Was this a roadmap for India’s future or a speech that left several uncomfortable questions unanswered? Join us LIVE at 10 AM as we decode PM Modi’s Independence Day address, examine its key messages, and analyse the issues that were left unsaid. #IndependenceDay2026 #PMModi #RedFortSpeech #ModiSpeech #IndependenceDay #AITraining #DimagiNaxals #NEET #GenZ #EconomicSecurity #EnergySecurity #TheFederal #IndiaPolitics #NarendraModi --- ▶For the latest news and analysis - https://thefederal.com/  ▶RSS Feed - https://thefederal.com/google_feeds.xml ▶For more explainers, and interesting videos - https://thefederal.com/category/videos ▶To watch The Federal's shows listed together for your easy access, click here:    • The Federal Programmes   Follow The Federal News here - ▶Website: https://thefederal.com/ ▶Facebook:   / thefederal.india   ▶X: https://x.com/TheFederal_News ▶Instagram:   / thefederal_india   ▶LinkedIn:   / thefederal   ▶Whatsapp channel: https://www.whatsapp.com/channel/0029... ▶Threads: TheFederal India (@thefederal_india) ▶Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fy3utP... #TheFederal #India #BreakingNews #LatestNews #News #Delhi #Mumbai #Parliament #NarendraModi #RahulGandhi #Politics #Business #Economy Download The Federal App here - ▶Android - http://bit.ly/3DJSkiu ▶iPhone - http://bit.ly/TheFederalios
