Mica Mines Trail // Amazing Mineral Mine Near Grand Junction Colorado

The Mica Mines Trail is an easy to moderate 2.7 mile hike. Stunning canyon views including the towering Wingate Cliffs and interesting rock formations are highlights of the hike. The main attraction for us was finding the abundance of the mineral mica and quartz near the mine. We enjoyed a little scrambling at the mine site which added a little spice to the morning fun. It was dry when we hiked it but there are reports of multiple creek crossings during certain times of the year. We hope you enjoy our video!
