USC President Beong-Soo Kim Honored as 2026 Education Game Changer

LOS ANGELES, May 3, 2026 — USC President Beong-Soo Kim accepts Asia Society Southern California's Education Game Changer honor at the 2026 Asia Game Changer Awards SoCal presented by MindChamps. David Bohnett, Chair of the David Bohnett Foundation and USC Trustee, introduces Kim, citing his commitment to transparency, empathy, and USC's role as a global connector. In his acceptance, Kim traces his mother's journey from wartime Korea to becoming a third-grade teacher in Los Angeles, and reflects on how that legacy of belief in education shaped his own path to becoming the first Asian American president of USC.
