KIIRA MOTORS IN COSASE: BUSES ARE TOO EXPENSIVE TO COMPETE IN THE MARKET

Members of the Committee on Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) have expressed concerns that the buses manufactured by Kiira Motors in Uganda may not be competitive in the market due to their high production costs, with each bus costing over 800 million shillings to produce. During a meeting with officials from Kiira Motors to address queries from the Auditor General's report for 2022/23, COSASE Chairperson Medard Lubega Ssegona highlighted the potential financial losses for the government in its investment in Kiira Motors.
