From our garden in Căciulați, near the Codrii Vlăsiei forest, ripe tomatoes become homemade tomato sauce from fresh tomatoes the traditional village way: wood fire cooking, a ladle, and time. No machines. The pots simmer through the night. Steam, wood, open fire cooking. By morning the table is full — canning tomatoes and food preservation for the cold months.
