Turning rocky terrain into farmland using old machinery! In this video, I'm transforming a rough, rocky piece of land into a productive growing area on my homestead in Norway.
Follow along as I use an old tractor and backhoe to remove rocks, prepare the soil, harrow the ground, and sow a wildlife food plot. From rocky, uneven terrain to the first signs of new growth, this is a step-by-step look at reclaiming land and turning it into useful farmland.
My main goal is to grow potatoes and vegetables on this land. However, because I finished preparing the ground late in the growing season, I decided to establish a wildlife food plot for the first year. Next year, I plan to use the area for growing potatoes, vegetables, and wildlife forage.
Working with classic tractors like the Ferguson 35 and Massey Ferguson 135 has its challenges, but I enjoy finding practical ways to get the job done with the equipment I have.
Here in Norway, I'm working towards a more self-sufficient lifestyle through homesteading, growing my own food, improving the land, and producing my own firewood.
This channel is about real homesteading projects, old tractors and machinery, land improvement, growing food, firewood production, and rural life in Norway.
If you enjoy homesteading, restoring farmland, old farm machinery, vegetable gardening, wildlife food plots, and becoming more self-sufficient, consider subscribing and following along!
