Explore St Machar’s Cathedral in Old Aberdeen, one of Scotland’s most historic churches. Tradition links the site to St Machar and even William Wallace, while much of the granite cathedral seen today dates from the 15th century. Over the centuries it survived major religious change, rebuilding and a devastating storm in 1688 that brought down the central tower and destroyed much of the crossing and transepts. Today, the surviving nave remains in use as a Church of Scotland parish church. This video takes a closer look at the cathedral from the air and at ground level, showing its distinctive twin towers, granite architecture and historic surroundings in Old Aberdeen. 📍 St Machar’s Cathedral, Old Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland #StMacharsCathedral #Aberdeen #OldAberdeen #Scotland #ScottishHistory #WilliamWallace #ScottishChurches #HistoricScotland #VisitScotland #AberdeenScotland #Cathedral #ChurchArchitecture #ScotlandTravel #UKHistory
