Breakfast Briefing: Defending Our Neighbors – ICE Activity, Rights and the Fight for Civil Liberties

On Wednesday, March 18 at 8:30 AM, we heard from Heidi Roux, Director of Immigrant Justice at The Welcome Project PA, who spoke about local ICE activity, the work The Welcome Project is doing, and ways to get involved in supporting the most vulnerable members of our communities right now. We were also honored to be joined by Senator Maria Collett, who spoke about a resolution she introduced with Senator Jay Costa condemning the unconstitutional use of force by federal immigration officers, along with additional legislation she is working on to keep Pennsylvanians safe. Senator Collett also shared critical information about what can and cannot be done at the state level and gave an important review of our rights.
