Boreal owl chick in the forest

This is from last summer when the first of four chicks had left the nest. It's so so hard to find them outside of the nest even though you know where to look! Sitting completely still and waiting for the dawn when food is delivered by the parents. There is so much to explore for a owl chick that has just left the safety of the nest.
